Climate Action and Sustainability Working Group - Nominations

Welcome to the City of Bunbury Climate Action and Sustainability Working Group (CASWG) nominations.

Are you passionate about the environment and sustainability? Do you have the expertise and skills to make a difference when it comes to meaningful climate action?

We have the opportunity for you!

The City is seeking nominations from interested individuals to fill up to six vacancies on a new Climate Action and Sustainability Working Group.

The City is seeking members with knowledge or experience in:

  • Energy and emissions reduction
  • Water management, quality and conservation
  • Biodiversity and ecosystem protection and enhancement
  • Sustainable transport and infrastructure  
  • Circular economy and waste management
  • Climate resilience and adaptation
  • Community engagement and behaviour change

The purpose of the group is to provide a forum to focus on sustainability issues and opportunities and contribute towards the City's direction on sustainability and climate action.

The proposed role of the CASWG is to:

  1. Receive updates and provide input on the City’s Sustainability and Environmental Strategy, the Sustainability and Environmental Action Plan and other related plans.
  2. Provide advice on sustainability issues and opportunities, from within their area of experience and expertise.
  3. Maintain a forum for networking and sharing of ideas and opportunities for collaboration with community and corporate stakeholders.
  4. Participate in community consultation opportunities and strengthen community connections, awareness and education around sustainability and climate action.
  5. Form recommendations on sustainability actions, which can be presented to Council, where appropriate.
  6. Represent the interests of relevant local groups.

Appointments are expected to be made in June 2024.

Nominations are open until 12pm Monday, 3rd June 2024.

SAVING YOUR DRAFT APPLICATION

If you wish to leave a partially completed application, press 'save and close' and log out. When you log back in and click on the 'My Submissions' link at the top of the screen, you will find a list of any applications you have started or submitted. You can reopen your draft application and start where you left off.

You can also download any application, whether draft or completed, as a PDF. Click on the 'Download PDF' button located at the bottom of the last page of the application form.

SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION

You will find a Review and Submit button at the bottom of the Navigation Panel. You need to review your application before you can submit it.

Once you have reviewed your application you can submit it by clicking on 'Submit' at the top or bottom of the screen or on the navigation panel. You will not be able to submit your application until all the compulsory questions are completed and there are no validation errors.

Once you have submitted your application, no further editing or uploading of support materials is possible.

When you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email with a copy of your submitted application attached. This will be sent to the email you used to register.

If you do not receive a confirmation of submission email then you should presume that your submission has NOT been submitted.
